About

Background, Experience & Interests

Designer, musician, cook, mentor, handyman & father.

Ever since I was a kid, I've had an insatiable passion to create. Early on, my creative thirst was quenched by building worlds made entirely from legos or recreating historic moments like the Battle of Gettysburg outside in the yard. This passion would also connect me to pursuits like music, carpentry and cooking, all of which I continue to enjoy every day. After two years in college following the path that would one day potentially lead me to medical school, I quickly became aware that I needed to adjust my focus and pulled a 180, transferring to art school.

After completing school, I moved to Washington, DC. I had a brief stint at the Washington Post before joining a boutique investment firm focused on environmental projects in both the public and private sectors. The experience I gained in these first 10 years would prove invaluable. From researching, writing, pitching, and marketing, to collaborating and partnering with the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Transportation and several private domestic and international companies, lead and enabled me to start my own marketing and design company. After my son was born and moving closer to family, I'd continue to work in the finance world, first helping to build a digital team in Bank of America's in-house agency then working for external agencies, continuing to partner and collaborate with several other major banks fintechs.

Today, I continue to support a variety of businesses, organizations and individuals by sharing my passion, experience and focus to inspire and create innovative, engaging and successful messages and experiences. Through continued learning, collaboration, and creative problem solving, I'm excited to tackle future challenges and look forward to partnering with businesses and individuals to achieve their brand, marketing and business goals!

Branding

The best relationships are built on trust, authenticity, communication and reciprocation. The relationship your customers have with your business is no different. From the logo on your door to your social media feed and every micro-interaction in between, thoughtfully curating your narrative and tone to reflect and deliver on your brand promise is the bedrock of the world's best brands. Helping to define your brand voice and positioning then bringing it to life consistently across every aspect of your customer lifecycle can be one of the most rewarding, eye-opening and useful pursuits!

Website Design

Every brand has a website but not every website maximizes their brand. From single page sites to scalable e-commerce sites, creating an immersive and compelling experience that brings your brand promise to life and connects your customers to meaningful, relevant products and services is a simple journey built on research, insights, smart design and appropriate technology. The best sites not only validate a customers decision to invest in a relationship with your brand, but also help to continue to deliver and connect those customers to an on-going narrative that keeps your brand active and top of mind, increasing engagement and ultimately, increasing your bottom line.

Marketing Strategy

You’ve got your logo, your brand guidelines and your position and now its time to bring your ethos to life! Developing an actionable, integrated and relevant marketing strategy will make your brand sing, targeting your best customers/prospects and connecting their needs to your products and services.

Advertising & Media

Successful advertising is highly quantitative… numbers certainly don’t lie. Successful advertising is also highly formulaic, like baking a cake. But have you ever followed the cake recipe to the letter, only to find yourself buying one from the bakery after tossing whatever it was that came out of your oven? Fear not! There is a recipe for success and when you marry that recipe with experience and skills, it becomes an art form with deliciously consistent results and like any great recipe, can be adapted and evolved to keep your customers hungry for more! Ask about which recipe is right for your business and then feast on the success!

Multimedia

Video and motion based graphics are some of the most effective ways to engage and interact with your audience. Of course it’s also some of the easiest content to create as anyone with a smartphone and a social media account can produce and share videos. Combine the volume of videos with the average attention span of consumers today (crazy stat: the average human has an attention span of 8 secs which is less than a goldfish), it’s incredibly challenging to cut through all the noise and if you do, even harder to keep your audience’s attention. The answer to creating compelling, attention-grabbing and action-oriented messaging is a smart, targeted, behavior-specific strategy. Maybe a 60 sec spot will perform better than a costly 10 min video or even a 4-5 sec motion graphic spot. Let’s talk about how we can create the perfect “snackable” content to best reach and engage your audience.

Just for fun

Need help polishing a presentation? How about some Photoshop work on an image? Some of the most creative, fun and rewarding projects are the ones that are for fun! From funny videos or holiday gift cards to individual youth sports posters, there’s always a different, fun and creative way to solve something to make it unique and more personal.
